Goal setting for the community

The Flock of the Holy Spirit Pastoral Team and other workers went to Tagaytay City, Cavite in an overnight stay last April 14-15, 2007. They discussed the future plans for the community according to God’s will. The team was divided into groups for brainstorming. After which, the whole team converged to collate each of the group ideas for further discourse.

The session ended with three primary goals established: empowerment, spiritual formation and community building. Each goal has targets and ways to achieve it. These goals were later presented to the community in the prayer meeting.

Spiritual formation aims on shaping members of the community in living a good Christian life. The Formation Guide, a checklist of Christian practices, can be used to know the attainment of this goal. Giving appropriate teachings to the community is the aim of empowerment while increasing the number of members and workers and encouraging inactive members are the aims of community building. Thus, spiritual formation is for quality; community building is for quantity; and empowerment is for the advancement of the two other goals.
