A passionate 24th anniversary celebration

In January 30, 2009, the Flock of the Holy Spirit Catholic Charismatic Community celebrated its 24th anniversary with the theme "Sa ika-dalawampu't apat na taon, mas maalab na paglilingkod sa Dakilang Poon" (On the 24th year, a more passionate service to the Lord). In reality, the community began in 1984 as a chapter of the Loved Flock Charismatic Community but became independent in January 1985. Therefore, the community exists more than 24 years, although, the Silver anniversary will be celebrated in January 2010.

The celebration started with some joyful Christian songs and a Thanksgiving Mass followed. After which, the Youth Ministry and Music Ministry entertained the crowd with their musical numbers. The Youth Ministry has a video presentation while performing their song.

Inactive members like Sis. Cora Raymundo and Bro. Felix Lapuz (both former Head Elders), Sis. Vilma and Bro. Mar Atienza, Sis. Hiling, Bro. Egay Fatalla and Fr. Jade Licuanan attended this event. Some of them shared their experiences during their active days in the community. Many are hoping that they would be in the community again although they serve the Lord in a different way. As parish priest, Fr. Jade serves the Lord through Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish in Pasay City while the couple Sis. Vilma and Bro. Mar are in a different community.

The Education Ministry presented videos about the accomplishment in the past two years. The presentation includes events like Life in the Spirit Seminars, Christmas parties, anniversary celebrations, pilgrimage, outing and planning. Sis. Mely Alberto also provided a video about various past activities of the community. It focused more on remembering people from the good old days when the community was young. The night ended with the singing of the Community Song led by Bro. Tony Tenedero, current Head Servant, and former members who were singing at the front.
